RHODE BARRIER RESTORE CREAM
This winter I decided to finally try Hailey Bieber’s line, Rhode for the first time! I ordered this cream, this pocket blush and the peptide lip tint. I’m still working my way through the latter two, but just finished my tube of the moisturizer. I’m surprised to say I LOVED it! It’s a creamy formula that goes on very light – it leaves your skin dewy, not oily. The bottle itself isn’t very big and tbh I don’t feel like it was very full to begin with, so I made my way through it pretty quickly! But I’d definitely order it again. Plus, the branding is on point!
MAC SILKY MATTE LIPSTICK IN HONEYLOVE
A couple years ago during the #NSALE, I bought one of the MAC lip duo exclusives in a limited edition color called Dandy Apple. The matte lipstick in the set turned out to be the BEST nude shade for my lips! Sadly I didn’t think to buy multiple tubes of it at the time, and naturally the color went away once the sale ended. I’ve been on a hunt for something similar ever since! I even went to LipLab in SoHo and had them recreate a couple lipsticks shades using the scraps I had left of my one Dandy Apple tube. While the colors were pretty much a match, I didn’t love their matte lipstick formula. Last year I tried MAC’s Silky Matte lipstick in the shade HoneyLove, and while a little darker and warmer than Dandy Apple, it’s become my go-to nude lip. I wore it down to the nub and just got two more in its place! Such a good color! Highly recommend also getting the Beige-Turner lip liner too – they look amazing together.
DR. LORETTA INTENSE REPLENESHING SERUM
I received this in a PR mailer from Shopbop last year and just got around to using this serum this winter! Because of the formula, I decided it was the perfect serum for my nighttime skincare routine. It’s super silky and soft to apply, but the formula is thicker and oilier to the touch than other serums I’ve tried. It’s not necessarily something I’d want to wear under makeup, but it’s the ideal product for putting on before a cream before bed. A little goes a long way too – one small pump is all you need. I will definitely order more!
LA ROCHE POSAY ANTHELIOS CLEAR SKIN DRY TOUCH SUNSCREEN SPF 60
I’ve been using La Roche Posay products for my daily SPF for years! You can buy them at CVS and most other drug stores, and I love how their formulas don’t irritate my sensitive skin. I use this Dry Touch sunscreen most of all and wear it daily under my makeup. It’s a white cream but rubs in and disappears fast, so you don’t have to worry about white streaks or residue left behind. The small tube makes it easy to throw into any handbag or travel with! Highly recommend.
COLLEEN ROTHSCHILD QUENCH & SHINE SHAMPOO AND RESTORATIVE MASK
Forgot to hold onto these for the photo, but I recently finished up this shampoo and restorative hair mask! The first thing I noticed was the incredible scent of the shampoo – it is SO good and that alone had me looking forward to my hair routine. It lathers up really well too – I know what certain experts say about extra suds and how that dries out your hair, but tbh I hate when a shampoo doesn’t lather up! I find the lathering to be essential to a pleasant hair washing experience. The restorative hair mask acts as a deep conditioner, which was perfect for my heat and highlight-damaged hair! Will buy this set again.
VACATION CHARDONNAY OIL
I was introduced to the Vacation sun care brand last year I think? I’m obsessed with their products! This might be my favorite of their lineup though. It makes me nostalgic for baby oil days laying out by the pool, but without the skin cancer risk. The Chardonnay Oil is packed with SPF30, but looks like a traditional tanning oil. The result? Silky, shiny, sun-protected skin for the perfect pool- or beach-side glow! No white residue around these parts! Forgot to include it in the photo above, but the branding is chic too.
TAN LUXE THE FACE SELF-TANNING DROPS
Tan-Luxe drops are my go-to self-tanner these days! It’s so easy to mix with my favorite body cream and apply with my hands. The more drops of Tan-Luxe you add, the more intense your glow – I love that it’s buildable! I find it goes on very smoothly (no streaking) as long as you thoroughly mix it with a cream of your choice before applying, and make sure it’s all rubbed in. I do recommend adding some extra moisturizer to your driest areas (ankles, knees, elbows), before applying just in case. And wash your hands after applying! I just ran out of my mini bottle here in Austin, but luckily I have a larger one waiting for me in New York to use all summer.
CLE DE PEAU THE SERUM
I’ve been using this as my daytime serum before applying moisturizer, SPF and my makeup the last several months! I love how quickly it absorbs into the skin, making it ideal for wearing under all the aforementioned products in my daytime routine. I definitely think it’s helped with brightening my skin for an overall improvement in radiance and skin tone! It’s pricey, but I feel like it’s lasted me quite awhile. I usually use three pumps – sounds like a lot, but I love applying all over my face, neck and décolletage.
AUGUSTINUS BADER THE RICH CREAM
Everyone always raves about this one, but it just wasn’t my favorite formula for a moisturizer! There’s something about the cream-to-water feel I don’t love. It felt like I had to use so much more of the product to get the job done than I do with other creams! And I don’t feel like it kept me skin moisturized for that long? I don’t know, it just wasn’t my favorite.
KATE SOMERVILLE DELIKATE SOOTHING CLEANSER
Ok, this one is sort of hilarious – I was sent a PR mailer from Kate Somerville awhile back… it must have been so long ago because it has since been discontinued! Oops. I didn’t even realize until I went to link it here! Goes to show how rarely I try new products – I only started using it when I ran out of my last face wash. It’s a very gentle cleanser, and while it definitely didn’t bother my skin, it didn’t do a great job of getting leftover makeup/residue off that my cleansing wipes didn’t catch. My skin is sensitive so I love a gentle cleanser, but I really want my face to be fully *clean* after washing it! I also feel like it came out of the tube so quickly – I always got way too much in my hand and ended up going through it pretty fast.
