SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW
Remember this bag? I got it the summer of 2023 and truly wore. it. out. that fall/winter! I wore it nearly every single day as a crossbody, with the gold bow hardware sitting against the bag itself. Also, I wore it so often, that eventually I got tired of it and craved newness. I recently saw it styled as a shoulder bag, with the one long strap made into two – I don’t know why I never thought to do that! That single, small change makes such a big impact – it looks like an entirely different bag to me. I’ve definitely been opting for shoulder bags over crossbody bags these days, so this look feels more fresh to me. Plus, I love seeing a peek of the bow on my arm! It’s so exciting when you can find ways to breath new life into pieces that already exist in your closet.
This coat is another item from a few years back that I still get so much joy out of wearing!
It’s such a beautiful neutral in a classic wrap style, but the fringe trim takes the entire look up a notch. It’s what I like to call a statement staple – I don’t think I’ll ever tire of it! It also doesn’t hurt that I always receive compliments whenever I wear it. Not to mention it is incredibly soft and warm! While the color I’m wearing is old, this exact coat is still available in black and a darker camel color. Something new I’m wearing here that I bought in December, is this mock neck top by Brochu Walker. If you’ve watched any of my Instagram stories or Reels over the last couple of months, you’ll know this is probably my most-worn top at the moment. It is SO soft, and gives the look of a bodysuit without being a bodysuit. It’s the ideal base layer for so many of my outfits! The mock neckline in super flattering, and lays nicely under all styles of jackets, blazers and coats. I wish it came in cream, because I would snatch it up in a second! It does also come in gray, but I find I don’t wear gray much and don’t think that would be useful in my wardrobe. I have the XS, for reference!
These Khaite jeans are also new!
I got these in early February and have been wearing them on repeat lately. They’ve got a very high rise and a straight leg look – a similar to my favorite Abigail style, but with a longer hem. I love that these have a little stretch to them! Makes them a very comfortable choice in a sea of rigid denim in my closet. The lighter wash will be a great go-to come spring summer, but I’m having fun styling them with darker looks for a cool contrast this winter! I’d always recommend sizing up in Khaite jeans – they run small. Also, I don’t recommend putting Khaite denim in the dryer! They maintain their shape and fit best when you hang them/lay them flat to dry.
