ALL THE BEAUTY PRODUCTS I’VE BEEN USING LATELY

If you’re new to following me, you may not know but I rarely change up my skincare or makeup routine! I’m a creature of habit and like to keep things simple stupid. It’s not often I try out new products or switch up my look, but in last few months I’ve incorporated just a handful of new items to my routine that I think are worth sharing! Keep reading for all of the details on both the makeup products I’ve used for years, along with the new items I’ve been loving lately.

GIORGIO ARMANI LUMINOUS SILK FOUNDATION

I didn’t grow up dealing with acne or any other major skin problems, so I actually didn’t start using foundation regularly until I was in my mid-twenties. So many foundations out there are so thick and heavy, so I probably tried a few years back and just never committed. This Luminous Silk Foundation is one of the lightest formulas I’ve found that offers just enough coverage, and has been the perfect product for my skin! I use the color 4.0.

NARS RADIANT CREAMY CONCEALER

I swear I’ve been using this concealer since college! I’ve been a NARS fan for what seems like forever, and it probably started with this product. The coverage is great, it’s easy to apply and goes on smooth. I use Vanilla!

LAURA MERCIER TRANSLUCENT POWDER MIXED WITH LAURA MERCIER LIGHT CATCHER POWDER

I started using Laura Mercier’s translucent powder after doing a collaboration with the brand in the early years of my blog (maybe in 2014?), and it’s been in my makeup routine every day since! A couple years back Laura Mercier released a new powder, called Light Catcher Translucent Loose Setting Powder, which features a bit of sparkle for a luminous finish. I will say on its own the Light Catcher powder can be a pretty intense glow, which is why I love to mix it with the traditional matte translucent powder. It cuts down the shine just a bit, so the result is not overpowering! I like to describe the final look as a “photoshop finish” – it’s like adding Instagram’s Paris filter to your face. I use the shade, Celestial Light!

PS: Longtime followers will know I used to love the Marc Jacobs Coconut Gel Highlighter and mix it with my foundation, but that product was discontinued awhile back. The Light Catcher powder addition to my routine has replaced that product for me!

TARTE TARTELETTE TOASTED PALETTE

I’ve got one eyeshadow palette in New York and one in Austin, but this is the eye shadow palette I’ve been using in New York since the beginning of fall! It features toasty warm neutrals – think peachy beiges, rusts, and browns. It’s a pretty palette for the fall season and looks great with my fair skin! I’m not super particular about which colors I use each day – I just mix and match depending on my mood. But I always start with one of the lighter matte colors as an eyeshadow base, apply one the lighter shimmer options to my lid, and smudge a mix of a few of the darker shades in my crease. This is the eyeshadow palette I use when I’m in Austin! It features a similar selection of warm neutrals, but leans a bit more rosy than peachy in tone.

BENEFIT HOOLA BRONZER

This is another product I’ve used nearly two decades – I think my sister introduced me to it. The best bronzer shade for pale people like myself! It’s buildable, but not intense.

NARS TALC-FREE POWDER BLUSH

I used to use NARS blush in Tempted, which was sadly discontinued last year. It was the perfect shimmery, peachy pink! I absolutely loved it. When I ran out, I bought NARS blush in Forbidden instead. It’s a very similar shade as the one I had before, but this one is matte!

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS LIQUID EYELINER

I’ve used Stila’s Stay All Day Eyeliner for years, but decided to try something new on my last trip to Sephora before Halloween. This liner is amazing! I love how long pen part of the brush is. It’s very easy to apply and also easy to remove, which is great if you fuck up while you’re applying it like I tend to do. I have it in black, but I’m tempted to try some other shades as well!

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS BROW POWDER DUO

Another Anastasia product I’ve been loving over the last year is this brow powder duo in Soft Brown. I have blonde eyebrows, and haven’t gotten the results I wanted from brown tinting over the years. I prefer to just apply color myself as part of my makeup routine! I used to use NARS shadow in Bali, another color that has gotten discontinued recently. This Anastasia brow duo is actually a much better color for my light eyebrows – it’s not as intense as Bali was, meaning I can start at a fairly light amount and build on it when/if necessary.

DIORSHOW MASCARA PRIMER

I used to use Givenchy Mascara Primer religiously, but naturally it also got discontinued! I was so so bummed. I ended up using Diorshow’s version instead! TBH it’s not as good as Givenchy’s was, but it does the trick. I love being able to add primer before mascara, as it helps lengthen my lashes and gives my mascara something to grab onto when I’m trying to build volume!

COVERGIRL CLUMP CRUSHER MASCARA

This is by far my favorite drug store beauty buy. My friend, Katherine, who also happens to be a makeup artist, introduced me to it years ago and I’ve never found another formula as good! Well, it’s actually more about the brush than the formula if I’m being honest. I start with a layer of mascara primer, let that dry for 30 seconds to a minute, and then add an initial layer of black Clump Crusher Mascara. I let that dry, then apply coat two about a minute or two later. The best part about Clump Crusher is the bristles on the brush – they’re fairly short and stiff, so they really drag through your individual lashes to help separate them. It makes the application process a breeze, and allows you to apply multiple layers for building volume!

PS: I can’t speak about my lashes without mentioning the other holy grail product in my routine: neuLASH. I’ve used this serum for nearly a decade now. It’s been key to keeping my lashes as thick and long as possible! While it’s not part of my daily makeup routine, it’s a product I apply to my lash line 3-4x a week right before bed. Highly recommend if you’re looking to up your lash game!

NARS PRECISION LIP PENCIL

For the longest time I avoided lip pencils, but recently I’ve decided I can’t live without one. I’m not sure if it’s my aging face or what. However, I’ve noticed I need to define my lip lines a little bit more than I used to before applying lipstick. I recently picked up this one in the color Vence, and it’s the perfect darker pinky-nude hue for me! Oddly enough, applying lip liner has always been more of a challenge for me than applying eyeliner, but this product makes it effortless. It goes on so smoothly and easily!

MAC MACXIMAL SILKY MATTE LIPSTICK

I’m a big fan of a matte lip and typically opt for that with my everyday face. The color I’ve been reaching for most lately is HoneyLove, but I have also been enjoying Creative by Rare Beauty. Both look great with the colors in my eyeshadow palette!

CHANEL ROUGE COCO GLOSS

In the event that I do decide I want a gloss topper, I nearly always use Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss in either 724 (Burnt Sugar) or 774 (Excitation). The formula isn’t sticky and goes on easily! Both are great shades that I’ve used on their own or over a variety of lipstick colors.
