A REVIEW OF KHAITE’S JERICHO KNIT BUSTIER TOP
While I’m super bummed Matches Fashion shuttered July 21st, I’m not upset about several designer pieces I managed to snag on MAJOR sale after the announcement earlier this spring. This Khaite top, for example! To put it simply, It’s a nearly $800 tube top that I got for about 1/3 the price. I love Khaite. However, I’m definitely not trying to spend $800 on a piece like this. So, when I saw the opportunity to snag it severely discounted in May I jumped at the chance. I’m so glad I did though, because it’s been so useful!
I’ve been loving wearing it on its own with jeans and shorts (see that look here!), but I can’t wait to style it under jackets and blazers this fall. The sculptural rounded neckline is unusual and very eye-catching – I always get so many compliments when I wear it! While it sold out pretty quickly at that sale price at Matches, it is still available discounted here, and at full price here, here and here.

This Khaite Jericho top is a bustier-inspired strapless top. It’s made of ribbed viscose, a thick knit fabric that hugs your curves. There’s no button or zipper closure, so it’s a pullover-style top. I’d say it fits true to size. However, the “neck” or top of the top is a little restrictive as it’s sewn, vs the hem which is not. So, if you want more wiggle room to pull it over your head, I’d go up a size. I’m in the small here, which I’m glad I got. However, it does require a little finagling to get it over my head! I’m on the taller side at 5’9 and have a pretty long torso. Nonetheless, this top is the perfect length for me to tuck into high-waisted bottoms.
While I definitely think you could wear a regular strapless bra with this top, the fitted fabric provides a little support if you want to go sans bra like I did here. All in all, I think it’s a high quality, striking piece that’s going to be a solid wardrobe staple for me! I definitely recommend it, but if you can, I’d wait try to snag it on sale like I did. Cettire has it on sale for $488 in black, but it’s also on sale in a cool camel hue for fall here, here and here.
