Do y’all remember this dress I bought last summer? It was one of my favorite purchases of 2020. The flattering fit and fabulous color combo brought me so much joy, and I got so many compliments every time I wore it! Wearing this dress made those rare dinner outings last summer and early fall feel more special – you just can’t help but smile when you wear a dress like this. While I haven’t purchased a lot of items for the coming season, I definitely couldn’t resist this midi dress! This number is by the same brand, Sika Designs, and they just launched on Shopbop. I’m so glad to see an online store I shop at religiously starting to carry more Black-owned brands… especially one I already love!

This particular print was exclusive to Shopbop, and the color scheme was right up my alley! This print also came in a nearly identical maxi dress style to the one I already own, so I ordered that too just in case the midi wasn’t cute on me… but as luck would have it, it’s a perfect fit! Plus, I love variety and am happy to have two different styles. Like the maxi dress, this midi is fitted at the waist and loose in the hips – a must for my figure! I adore the ruffle trim on the bodice, neckline hem. It adds such a romantic touch! The print features colors of cornflower blue, burgundy, mustard and cream/very pale yellow. It’s so unique and something I will definitely be able to wear into fall here in Texas! While I’m wearing it with heeled sandals in these photos, it looks just as chic with flat sandals and a tote for a more casual, daytime look. As far as sizing goes, I own the UK 12 in both dresses – that’s a US 8, so these pieces run small… size up!

Clearly I wasn’t the only one who fell head over heels for this print, as both this dress and the maxi dress version sold out lightning fast! I ordered an extra size in this dress and obviously ordered the maxi too, and have returned those – I imagine those will be back in stock soon, so keep your eye on the brand’s page.
