With summer coming to a close in a couple of weeks, we are entering that time of transition where it still feels like summer but the craving for fall style has arrived! It’s too hot for sweaters, layers and boots, but we’re starting to put away the breeziest pieces from our warm weather wardrobe. Now that I’m living in New York in a small apartment, the reorganizing of clothes tends to happen fairly gradually as opposed to all at once. I have so much stored under my bed and in drawers that I need to move around and swap for about half of what’s hanging in my closet right now! But if I swap it all too soon, I’ll be sweating in clothes that are too heavy to wear right now. Luckily, I have a good selection of easy neutral basics that make transitioning the seasons much more effortless.

My Leset pants will continue to be useful while the temps wait to drop, as will my Jenni Kayne shorts and these Banana Republic shorts I snagged on sale in July! My favorite Zara tees and these Cotton Citizen tanks (I layer the black and white!) I picked up this summer are solid basics I know I’ll keep wearing over the next month as well. This Vince top I got during the #NSALE is a more elevated top I’ll be reaching for a lot! As far as some new items that will help me out in transitioning the seasons, I recently picked up this boxy cashmere tee and this sleeveless turtleneck top that will both be great staples! I’m trying to save myself from spending too much money right now, because I have my eye on several pieces that will be more useful later on in the fall/winter season and don’t want to “blow my load” (sorry! lol) too soon.
