SECOND WINTER

After two brutal snowstorms this winter, we had a four day stretch of temps in the 60s-70s and beautiful, sunny skies last week. Sadly, it was just a tease – a little taste of what spring could be, but not the real thing. It was “fools spring” and now we’re in “second winter”, according to this purely scientific chart. Now, we’re back to the 30s and 40s – temps that somehow feel colder than the almost sub-zero ones we experienced during and post-blizzard. It’s like I had acclimated to the freezing temps here, but the second I went to Miami my body was reset to its factory settings. While I’m not thrilled about winter being back in full force, it does give me the opportunity to share one more seasonal look I had so much fun putting together!

The end of the season is actually my favorite time to shop for winter clothes. Why, you ask? Because *everything* is on sale. Everyone has moved on to begin shopping for resort/vacation attire and spring staples, so all winter merchandise gets marked down! You can always count on statement styles like (this ombre coat!) or unique seasonal colors (these burgundy boots!) to be heavily discounted. This coat was originally $2,300 and I got it on final sale for $805, while the boots were originally $1,290 and I snagged them for $645. I call that a win! While neither are pieces I’m going to wear every day, I enjoy being able to play with color this time of year when I need a break from black. Creating tonal and monochromatic looks with these pieces provides a nice distraction from the bleak forecast too!

If you’re scouting out sale finds to wear now and next winter, don’t miss these marked down statement styles! Sizes are limited, so don’t wait to shop:
