This weekend was a busy one for me! I had dinner plans each night + a day dedicated to shopping with a friend who was in town for a few days. Even though it was absolutely frigid out, it was nice to get out of the house after spending so much time indoors during the winter storm earlier this week! I ended up wearing this exact look to dinner on Friday night. These shorts were a somewhat impulsive purchase I made while shopping in Soho in October – definitely not the usual sort of thing I buy, but I thought they’d be a unique way to break up all the black in my winter wardrobe for nights out! They are shaped a little like hot pants – the curve up on the sides, which I wasn’t sure I was going to love on me. And don’t get me wrong… they ARE very short! But pairing them with black tights makes them feel like they have more coverage and aren’t so skimpy. I wore them with my favorite Khaite top, heavyweight wool Wardrobe.NYC blazer and pumps in the fall, but now I’m styling the shorts with a chunky oversized sweater and boots for a slightly more dressed down look. It’s such an easy outfit to throw together that feels cute and flirty for a night out this season!
Animal prints and textures are always on display this time of year, but I’m seeing a much wider variety at the moment! Not just your typical leopard and cheetah, but also tiger, zebra, ostrich, snake, croc, calf hair… the list goes on. Below are some of my favorite animal-inspired styles for adding rich texture to any look!

BLOUSE // SHOULDER BAG // SNEAKERS // OSTRICH-EFFECT BELT // DRESS // BIKINI TOP + BOTTOMS // SNAKE SANDALS // SNAKE TOP HANDLE BAG // LEOPARD CLUTCH // SNAKE-EFFECT BELT // BOOTS // SKIRT // FLATS // SNAKE CLUTCH // LEOPARD SANDALS // OSTRICH-EFFECT MULES // CALF-HAIR CLUTCH
