One label that should be on everyone’s lips right now is Nour Hammour. Originally founded as a bespoke label specializing in made-to-order leather jackets, they eventually expanded into ready-to-wear (and more recently, accessories!) without losing the timeless design and quality craftsmanship they are known for. While they’ve been around since 2013, I didn’t discover Nour Hammour until I started seeing it in the new arrivals sections of my favorite online boutiques a couple years ago: MYTHERESA, NET-A-PORTER, etc. I love that they’ve hyper-focused on one category, aiming to provide a variety of silhouettes and cuts – whether you’re looking for a tailored, cropped piece or something with a more boxy, oversized look, they’ve got a style for you! So many brands do leather, but they’re usually limited to one or two styles a season to choose from.
They’ve got pieces for quiet luxury enthusiasts and maximalists alike! Prefer something more streamlined and understated? They’ve got that. Craving some fringe, studs or a statement collar? They have that too. And it’s not just soft leather! They’ve got suede, pony hair and shearling in a variety of textures for whatever the occasion might call for. While I have a pretty solid collection of outerwear, one thing I realized I was missing was a more elegant coat for evening, events and dressier dinners. I have plenty of wool, and I loved the idea of adding a shearling style to my wardrobe! This Giovanna shearling wrap coat was exactly what I was looking for: it’s a timeless, full-length silhouette featuring a belted waist and an eye-catching collar… and it is WARM!! I was shocked at how heavy it was coming out of the box! I’ve already worn it out to dinner a couple of times and I’m so so happy with the quality of it. It is so gorgeous!!
Something else I was really hoping to add to my wardrobe is a leather trench. While not super useful in the dead of winter, I’m excited to pull it out in the more transitional months – there are plenty of them here! It’s a cool layer I can throw over athleisure for errands around town, or style it with jeans and heeled boots for a sleek dinner look. Luckily I was able to score the black leather Althea trench on sale during Cyber Week in November! I definitely feel ready to take on the rollercoaster that is New York City weather thanks to these new Nour Hammour pieces. I took a size small in both items!
