If you live somewhere extra hot like Texas, denim may not be your go to in the coming months. However, here in New York (or when I’m in California!) I tend to wear denim all the way through the summer season! I may opt for lighter fabrics during the day. However, evenings in the city are definitely cool enough for wearing jeans. Perhaps that’s the Texan in me? Or maybe I’m just super sensitive to the blasting AC in many New York restaurants? Either way, I love being able to style cool cuts of denim with chic tops for dinners and nights out.

If you’re in the market for a new style or two for the season, Nordstrom has an amazing selection from my favorite labels! Most recently, this MOTHER style has been a repeat offender. The slight barrel, pieced look feels of the moment, without being too loud and taking over the whole outfit. I love how these jeans are cropped on me right at the ankle, making them wearable with sneakers, flats, sandals and heels alike! They’re slightly slouchy, but feel fitted and flattering in all of the right places. And in terms of color, this Back Pedal wash is truly perfect for summertime!
