This time of year in Texas is always a surprise when it comes to the weather. When I arrived back in Austin after three nights in New York, I certainly wasn’t expecting it to be the same temperature as it was in the city! Now a few days later, we’re experiencing true spring weather with highs in the mid-70s. I don’t expect that to last, as we always get a few brushes with winter into March, but it’s good to have transitional styles on hand so you can be ready for anything.
Layering pieces like trench coats, cardigans, blazers, knit tops + tees, and light wool jackets will all come in handy as we head into March and April! Below are a few standout styles I found while combing through new arrivals at Nordstrom – shop even more in the collage below!
- Tony Bianco Snake Print Mules – y’all know I love Khaite, but sadly I don’t have the budget to buy the whole collection (as much as I desperately want to). These snake-effect pumps are new for spring and totally swoon-worthy, but I saw these Tony Bianco mules and think they make an excellent dupe. They’re a fraction of the price, but feature a similarly wearable heel height + versatile color scheme!
- Toteme Signature Double Face Wool Jacket – I’ve already featured this jacket a number of times, but it’s worth repeating. It’s a cropped version of Toteme’s cult favorite coat, and is the ideal weight for winter-to-spring wear! Don’t wear a lot of black? It also comes in “peanut”, which is a sandy beige. Gorgeous!!
- Nordstrom Short Sleeve Cashmere Sweater – When the weather is unpredictable, a simple short sleeve sweater makes the ultimate base layer. Style it as you would a t-shirt under any trench, blazer or jacket. This one is under $100 and so soft!
- Favorite Daughter Masha High Waist Wide Leg Jeans – There’s nothing more chic than a tonal winter white look this time of year! Style these jeans with a matching cozy sweater + coat, and then take it into spring/summer with a black tank, belt and heeled sandals.
- MANGO Oversized Trench Coat – This timeless trench looks great over everything from athleisure looks to little black dresses. The neckline is effortless and the color is the most wearable of neutrals! A solid piece you’ll wear again and again – perfect for travel too!
