CHIC SPRING STAPLES FROM ZARA

I never thought I’d see the day that Zara would join an affiliate network, but alas, last week LTK (formerly known as rewardStyle) announced that the fast fashion giant is now on the platform! I remember in the early days of my blog I would have KILLED for Zara to be linkable. Back then I was on a much tighter budget and shopped at Zara constantly. Also, I eventually stopped shopping at Zara. Even though you can find some real diamonds in the rough, it wasn’t worth it to buy a bunch of stuff I wasn’t going to be able to link to.

Earning commission was and continues to be the majority of my income as a fashion blogger and content creator. So, it’s not a smart business move to buy a lot of things I can’t earn a commission on. While I primarily prefer to invest in quality pieces these days (fewer, better > fast fashion), I love a good budget buy when I spot something fabulous!

Matching Top and Wide Leg Jeans

While in New York in December shopping for holiday gifts, I stopped in the Hudson Yards Zara. I was immediately drawn to this espresso mock neck top and matching wide leg jeans. The fabrics felt high quality. The color was a perfect match for my new Khaite belt and boots I’d purchased just a week prior. Sizing and fit at Zara can be all over the place, so I had low expectations as I walked into the dressing room… I was shocked at how cute and flattering these pants were on! The rise is super high, hitting me right at the belly button and the most narrow part of my waist.

Aside from the perfect cinched waist look, the jeans are loose everywhere else – so *very* comfortable. I was immediately obsessed! The top wasn’t a perfect fit. The bodice on the small was perfect. However, the arms were extremely tight, so I sized up to the medium for a more comfortable fit. I’ve worn this full look a few times, and have also worn the top and jeans separately! Although they’re in a trending color for the season, they’re both great basics I know I’ll use again next year and beyond. Naturally, both items are now sadly sold out! But I thought I’d take this opportunity to share some new season Zara favorites now that I can link to them properly!
