BRAND SPOTLIGHT: WIGGY KIT
I first heard about Wiggy Kit when shopping on Matches Fashion (RIP!) several years back and I was immediately struck by her timeless, feminine silhouettes. I ended up buying a beautiful boatneck, blouson-sleeve midi dress in effortless blue and white stripes – the look gave “seersucker” without actually being seersucker and super preppy. I got the dress in 2020 and have worn it every spring/summer since!
It’s just one of those pieces that works for so many occasions. I’ve dressed it down with sandals for brunch with friends and dressed it up with pumps for Easter/church. I’ve also thrown on a pair of heeled sandals for dinner – it’s such a reliably chic look! I was recently reminded of Wiggy Kit thanks to an Instagram ad promoting her fall collection launch a few months back, and promptly ordered this velvet leopard-print coat.
Its shape draws inspiration from the 50s, featuring a rounded collar covered buttons and a cocoon shape – this gives it a vintage vibe and an absolutely classic appeal. The luxe leopard print makes a statement, while also remaining incredibly wearable as a neutral! With this being my second Wiggy Kit purchase, I can say with confidence the pieces are extremely high-quality and tailored well. This leopard-printed velvet is also available in a shorter jacket and this skirt! In terms of sizing, I went with the XS and it still has the intended oversized fit. I’m obsessed! Now that the temps have dropped, I can’t wait to start wearing it regularly.
