As of yesterday, I’m back in New York City! I’ve been so busy the last couple of weeks I really haven’t made any plans yet, and honestly I’m looking forward to getting organized and settled over the next few days. I’m waiting on another IKEA delivery today that will hopefully allow me to finally put together the shelving + cabinet unit I ordered for my entryway, which has been delayed twice now because I haven’t received the items I needed to complete the job. This time they’re just shipping out an entirely fresh unit, so hopefully by the time I get that I’ll have everything necessary to rebook a TaskRabbit! I’ll be very happy to have some extra hidden storage + shelving for some of Reeses’ things, my office setup and maybe even some kitchen items.

Normally I’m not an IKEA shopper, but I opted for it in this case because the item I’m getting I only need for this specific apartment. Since it’s a co-op and I probably will only spend one or two more years in it, I wasn’t interested in investing in a piece of furniture that may not work in the next place! Eventually I plan to move up the furniture I have in my Austin condo, which has a much different aesthetic than the pieces I sent to New York. It’ll all work out, I’m just annoyed at how long the IKEA pieces I did receive have been taking up my entire dining room while I wait for the rest of it! When you’re in a small apartment, having access to every inch of space is necessary.
