MAKING A CASE FOR THE COCKTAIL PANT
Satin palazzo pants are probably not everyone’s wishlist, and they certainly weren’t on mine. However, when I saw these in person at GBG Boutique in Carmel I HAD to try them on. The fabric is absolutely breathtaking in person, and the high-rise, wide-leg look exudes pure elegance! I was so taken by them I decided to try them in both classic black and this buttery, eggshell hue. I was instantly obsessed! Simply put, these pants fit beautifully and thanks to an elasticized waist, they’re comfortable too. They’ve also got deep pockets, if you’re into that sort of detail (cough, I am). I ended up buying the black pair in-store. However, then ordered these online when I found them for a much better price on Farfetch (I got the last pair in that price, but they’re available full price here!).
Purchasing these pants got me thinking about cocktail attire.
How I’ve spent most of my money on dresses in that department. I feel I’ve often overlooked a pair of fancy pants, just because a dress is one and done – it’s easy. But there’s something uber chic and modern looking about a sleek cocktail ensemble featuring fashion forward separates! While a knit tank or sweater would dress down the look for a dinner party, a form-fitting bodysuit or sleek blouse would elevate these pants. You can bring it further to cocktail party status. Just throw on a killer pair of heels, a cool clutch and eye-catching jewelry and you’re good to go!
These pants are pretty long and these are some of my tallest heels, so I may get them shortened a bit so I can also wear them with my kitten heels since that’s what I seem to gravitate towards these days… but I need to try them on with all of my shoes just in case to see whether that’s necessary! If you’re thinking you may want to buy these cocktail pants or something similar, I’ve rounded up a bunch of chic palazzo pant styles for the season ahead below. I linked some darker hues in the widget too – just hit the arrow on either side to keep scrolling!
