This top was almost immediately struck down by my inherent clumsiness. My first night wearing it, I grabbed sushi with a friend and splashed soy sauce all along the right side of it! I remember when I was getting dressed that night, I considered if I should wear something black since soy sauce would be involved… but I decided to wear it anyway. Instant karma! I was devastated and thought for sure it was doomed. I decided not to touch it/solve the problem myself, and took it straight to my dry cleaner first thing the next morning! He didn’t assure me either – he basically was like, I’ll do my best, but I can’t promise anything! So I went on my way, but secretly stressing about whether or not I just threw a few hundred dollars in the trash. Much to my surprise and delight, the dry cleaner was able to get all of the soy sauce out! Soy sauce can be hard to remove because there is oil in it, and dark oil stains are particularly challenging to treat. I’m SO glad he was able to revive it and make it look like new again, because I absolutely love this blouse!!

It’s such an adorable day-to-night find with a little nautical flair. The puffed shorter sleeves, V-neckline and oversized collar are a surprisingly flattering combination! It’s sophisticated enough to wear to work, but stylish enough for wearing out and about on the weekends. I’m obsessed! I went with a small, which I’d say fits true to size for the brand. I packed this look for Carmel, where I just arrived yesterday! I’m looking forward to one final week of vacation with the fam, and then it’s back to reality (and the Texas heat!) for me. It’s been a fun summer, but I cannot wait to be back in New York for the fall season. I’m really settling into life up there and feel like I’m missing out when I’m gone!

PS: Black has always been my go-to year round neutral, but lately I’ve been focused on adding more navy into my wardrobe. I scored these sandals on major sale when Matches announced they were folding, and these pants have been another new favorite I’ve been wearing on repeat since I purchased them in April. And that’s not all! During the #NSALE I snagged this cardigan + short sleeve sweater, and last week I ordered this jacket (which I already own and love in black)… so needless to say I think I’m set on navy now for the fall/winter season!
