Have you ever seen a more perfect summer dress? This blue + white striped beauty is a more budget-friendly find I scored on one of my last days in New York in June. I adore the high V-neckline and simple A-line silhouette – such a classic look! Did I mention it has pockets? It obviously looks gorgeous on its own. However, I also think it’ll look lovely with a summer sweater thrown over the shoulders for chilly nights as summer comes to a close. In terms of fit, I’d recommend sizing up in this one (especially if you’re busty!) – I’m wearing the 6 and it is pretty fitted on me. You’ll love the price point too!
AN HONEST REVIEW OF THE HERMES ORAN SANDAL
Another new item in my wardrobe (on the opposite end of the affordability spectrum!) you may have noticed is this pair of Hermes Oran sandals. I tried a pair of these cult favorite slides years ago and decided the fit wasn’t for me. The pair I tried on originally didn’t look that great on my feet. I generally prefer a sandal with more straps for a more secure fit. Slides just tend to slip off and are just more fussy than I usually like to deal with on the daily!
New colors have come and gone in these sandals over the years, and I’ve maintained my distance…but when I saw this gorgeous new Beige Albinos color (now sold out!) hit the website about a month ago, I decided to give them another chance. I’m actually kind of shocked it’s taken them this long to come out with the Oran sandal in a color like this! They’ve always had the “gold” color, which is sort of a cognac/luggage-brown leather. However, nothing in a true beige or nude. They’ve done a rainbow of colors, from neutrals to brights, but still – no nude! And finally, in summer 2024 they introduced Beige Albinos.
Classic Sandals
I’ve been on the hunt for classic sandals in a wearable nude that looks good with my skin tone. Also, I’ve had a surprisingly hard time finding ones I really like. I’m so glad I ordered these Hermes Oran sandals, because the Beige Albinos color is exactly what I’ve been looking for! I’ll be honest and admit the fit still wasn’t my favorite off the bat. However, I think I just needed a little insert to make them stay on my feet better – that’s the thing with slide styles!
They’re not always the most secure fit. I ordered these clear pad inserts that give my feet a better grip and they seemed to do the trick. I find the Hermes Oran sandals to run true to size length wise. However, they seemed to be a bit wide/loose on me – hence the clear pad inserts. With all of that said, they’re truly a wear-with-anything sandal I can style casually or dress up for dinner with my Ferragamo clutch. I’m in love! Will I be walking around New York City in them? No, but I wouldn’t do that in any slide sandal.
