Since I started this adventure splitting time between Austin and New York, I’ve definitely noticed a shift in my style choices… at least when I’m in the Big Apple. Instead of polished tweed jackets and classic ballet flats, I’m opting for more dressed down staples in more modern, trend-forward silhouettes. Street style up there just has a more androgynous appeal – you’ll see a lot of cool sneakers, baggy jeans, sweat suits under trench coats, and naturally, a lot of neutrals. While I’ve never been much of a trend-chaser, I am leaning more into trends than I have in the past! This cropped cashmere sweater set, is a great example. I bought it on a whim last fall, not really sure how or when I would really wear it. Turns out, it’s been the best topper for wearing with jeans and sneakers around town! I actually wore a version of this look with off-white jeans last week when exploring Williamsburg. I feel put together in it like I do in a tweed jacket, but with the right pair of jeans it still feels a little edgy and perfect for New York City. PS: this cashmere sweater set is on final sale right now for $140! It’s super soft, comfortable and fits true to size.
These $50 jeans are another casual staple I’ve been wearing on repeat in the city! They’re the perfect high-rise fit with a baggy wide leg look. Don’t worry if this look isn’t your vibe, these jeans look amazing with heels and a tweed jacket too as seen here! I also wore them with a trench and boots here. As you can see, this is a versatile pair you’ll wear over and over again. Finally, these sneakers. They’ve held up amazingly well to New York’s dirty streets, and are truly the most supportive, plush sneakers I’ve ever owned. I swear I’ve walked miles and miles in them on repeat, no problem. I’m tempted to also get them in this new White/Dune color way for spring/summer! They fit true to size!
