CUTE CLASSICS TO WEAR INTO FALL

COS ASYMMETRICAL JERSEY MIDI DRESS ON MERRITT BECK

When I was in Chicago a few weeks ago, I popped in COS while bopping around the Gold Coast. I wasn’t expecting to find anything, but maybe that’s why I ended up buying four new pieces! It’s always when you’re looking for something in particular that you don’t have luck shopping. I always find success when I’m not on the hunt for something specific! COS is definitely known for modern wardrobe staples in solid neutrals – do they have some colorful pieces? Sure, but that’s not what comes to mind when I think of this label. The price point is pretty great, with high quality, basic tees under $50 and chic dresses between $99-$200. On this particular trip in the store, I snagged this tee in light beige (more like an ecru color in person) and off white/black stripes, this dress and this one too. I love midi dresses like those for casual everyday wear, travel, etc – they’re comfortable and versatile, but they feature subtle styling details (ruching on the side to cinch the waist, an asymmetrical hem!) that keep them from feeling boring. These tees are 100% cotton and the fabric is thick – not at all sheer! I may end up buying more of them because I love the two I bought so much. Highly recommend! I bought all four pieces in a small.

Another great basic I picked up recently is this pair of cap toe ballet flats I snagged during the #NSALE this summer! While the sale is over, these flats are still under $100 and back in stock in every size. They definitely give off Chanel vibes for less! Plus, while I believe ballet flats are totally classic, they’re also trending this fall… they’re back and better than ever. Throw on this cashmere cardi and you’ve got a cozy, everyday look for work, a travel day, or wearing for just about anything else as we transition into fall!
