Even though I’ve been sharing some resort finds the last couple weeks, we still have a few weeks left of winter here in Texas! Thanks to the changing denim trends, this fall/winter I went on quite a shoe buying journey. Most of my boots from previous years were ones I could only wear with skinny jeans! I realized I didn’t have really any styles that looked great with straight leg or crop flare jeans, which I have been wearing on repeat this season. Before this year, I never really understood the skinny ankle boot or sock boot. Now I get it! I find them to be so flattering under perfectly cropped denim, where the hem of the jeans extends just beyond the top of the boot – like you see in this post.

I first bought a black pair back in November, and have worn them literally to death… and I mean that. I took them to Europe and made the unwise decision to wear them on cobblestone streets! They definitely need a trip to Deno’s for fixing up once the season is over.
