Happy New Year! I don’t know about you, but I always love the start of the new year. It’s a time to hit the refresh button. New beginnings, new attitude, new plans, new dreams. New everything! I’m coming home from Carmel today and excited to jump right into 2023. I don’t have any major resolutions this year… just the general “be healthier”, “achieve a better work/life balance” stuff. I felt spread very thin this past year and am hoping to make some small changes to my routine that will help lighten the load! A few things I’m going to do this month is get back to my 14,000 steps a day goal that I started in August, do a fridge/freezer/pantry purge, and I’ve decided I’m also going to do Dry January. The only time I’ve ever done Dry January was when I did Whole30 several years back! In addition to just wanting to start the year off on a healthy note, I have a lot of exciting stuff coming up that I’d like to have a clear head for. My last drink was champagne when the clock struck midnight on New Year’s Eve, which seemed like the perfect send off into Dry January!

I wore a more dressed down version of this outfit you see here for my New Year’s Eve celebration in Carmel and it was perfect! Carmel is pretty casual, so I knew I didn’t want to go all out in something sequined or super flashy. This embellished cashmere sweater was the ideal middle ground between cozy and eye-catching! I bought it a week before Christmas and have already worn it like five times. I’m obsessed! While it certainly worked for all of my various gatherings over the holidays, it’s definitely something I’ll be wearing the rest of winter. It’s classic and neutral, but with just a touch of sparkle! I’m wearing the medium here. These heels have also been one of my other favorite recent purchases! They’re so striking, aren’t they? I’ve worn these so much since I got them, and most of the time I style them with this bag (currently on sale!). It’s just such a fun combo for a night out! The shoes run small, and I sized up a half size.

Whatever your plans and resolutions are for the new year, I wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous 2023!
