WHAT I WORE IN CHARLESTON

05.23

Normally I’d spread these outfits out into multiple outfit posts, but with another fun trip coming up next month I’ll have lots more content to share! Liza and I had the best time in Charleston. It’s such a fun city to visit with the most amazing restaurants, charming architecture, great shopping and more! The weather in April is pretty perfect, although we did have one extremely hot day. I only brought lightweight dresses on this trip, so luckily it wasn’t too brutal! Scroll down to discover and shop some of my outfits from this trip – everything is linked at the bottom of the post!

This dress is one I actually found in Charleston at Hampden Clothing! It’s an incredible boutique filled with curated pieces from the best contemporary and designer labels. They even have a whole room dedicated to Xirena, one of my very favorite brands! That’s actually who this dress is by. I haven’t been able to find this dress (the “Larkyn”) in the color way I’m wearing, but it does come in this vibrant orange + pink combo! It’s also available in solid green here. This color way I’m wearing comes in a minidress version, but sadly it’s far too short on me – I’m 5’9!

It’s no secret I buy a lot of midi dresses, but I’ve been trying to add some shorter styles to my closet to mix things up. Being 5’9 with a long torso means many (if not most) mini dress styles feel far too short on me. Whenever I place an order for dresses, I always include a couple shorter styles and am usually disappointed when they’re never long enough for my comfort! Recently, however, I found this Cara Cara dress and it is *just* the right length! It features a comfortable smocked waistline and a pretty Japanese garden floral print for summer. It’s super lightweight too, making it ideal for nights out here in Texas during the hotter months of the year!

You may recall me sharing my love for Mille in this outfit recap post from San Miguel, but if not, it needs to be on your radar! Mille creates the most beautiful pieces in effortless silhouettes, with gorgeous prints, colors and fabrics. This dress is one of three pieces I purchased in the spring, and thought it would be the perfect colorful find for Charleston! The smocked bodice is comfortable and keeps it casual, but the vibrant print and ruffled straps add a little something extra.

Last but not least is this incredible soft and comfortable maxi dress from Cuyana! They sent me this bag as part of a paid partnership I’m doing with them on Instagram, but I saw they had a bunch of new clothing arrivals and couldn’t pass up ordering a few things to try. The color on this dress is absolutely gorgeous, and the fabric is thick and buttery soft. There’s a slight cutout on one side at the waist (which I normally wouldn’t go for), but it’s so subtle and actually flattering!
