NEW HOUSE UPDATE: BATHROOM PAINT BY CLARE PAINT

I’m so thrilled to finally be able to share an update on my bathroom!!! When I bought the new house, one thing I noticed and wanted to change was the paint color on the cabinetry in the primary bathroom. The original trim paint color was Benjamin Moore White Dove, which is the same as on the walls in this space and throughout the house. While I love the trim color in other spaces, I didn’t love how it looked against the quartz countertops in my bathroom! The colors were super similar, but slightly off on tone – the stone was cooler and the trim paint was warmer. While not everyone would likely notice that, it definitely bothered me! I prefer colors to complement each other, not clash. You can see photos of the original trim color in the bathroom here!

I decided to hold off on the paint job until I figured out whether I’d be painting any other spaces in my home. I also wanted to wait and see what trim I wanted before making a decision on the color to go with I’m glad I waited, because Amelia suggested we repaint my entire office earlier this year! You’ll see more on that next week. I hired Platinum Painting to do the job – they helped with some painting at my last house, and I’ve been really pleased with their work! The team is super friendly, courteous and they do a fantastic job. I highly recommend them if you’re looking for a painter in Dallas!

Back when I first moved into my house, the team at Clare Paint reached out to see if I had any paint jobs I might could use their help with. At the time, I hadn’t quite figured it out, but touched base with them this spring to see if they still wanted to work together! I was super into the idea of partnering with a smaller business, especially a Black- and female-owned business like Clare Paint. Instead of the usual swatch strips you get at big paint name brands, Clare Paint sends you a large swatch with an adhesive on the back! This makes it super easy to see what a color will look like on various surfaces – I moved them all around my bathroom and my office to see how the colors would look in different lighting. Super helpful in making a decision!!

If you recall, the bathroom at my last house was all white with cool grey accents. I didn’t want to do the exact same color scheme, but still wanted to keep the space neutral! The shade trim I picked for the new bathroom features a more beige-grey color scheme, so I ordered a few warmer grey options from Clare to try. The two I liked best were Beigeing and Flatiron, but ultimately decided Beigeing was the way to go. I was worried Flatiron might look too dark! I’m so glad I went with Beigeing, because it adds just enough color without too much contrast with the walls. When the painters came to give me a quote for the job, I asked them how much paint I’d need to order. After that I went on Clare’s website to place an order – I just entered the number of gallons the painter told me to get! It was a seamless process, and it shipped right away. I’m so, so happy with how Beigeing turned out in my bathroom! It’s so calming, subtle and timeless. Just my style!

In addition to changing the paint, I also replaced the original cabinetry hardware with more stylish lucite knobs and pulls. I love how they turned out! I went with the 4 inch Chrome Crown pulls, as well as a few of the matching toggles. Even though a paint job and switching out some hardware may not seem like much of a change, I feel the bathroom looks so much softer and more elegant now! Below you’ll discover a bunch of photos we took last week – I’m so happy with how it turned out!! The last thing I need is some kind of a rug or runner. I’d love for it to feature beige, grey, cream and white to tie in all of the soft neutrals around the bathroom! Keep scrolling to see photos and let me know what you think in the comments!
