A XIRENA APPRECIATION POST

03.17

While there are a lot of brands I’ve loved over the years, one that I continue to buy again and again is Xirena… I have yet to be disappointed! I thought it would be fun to walk down memory lane to when I first discovered the brand, highlight some of my favorite pieces, and then end with the latest piece I snagged for my closet! Keep scrolling to read and shop!

I first discovered Xirena on a trip to Charleston in April 2019. My friend Dana (who was with me) is the one who actually bought one of their pieces first, but after how much she raved about it I had to order one for myself! We both bought the Winslow dress I wore in this blog post, and it is been a beloved item in my closet ever since. Sure, you know me for wearing neutrals, but during spring and summer I like to throw some color in there! For the past two years, I’ve likely worn this dress once every two weeks or so when the weather is warm. It’s one of those timeless, versatile styles that works for everything from casual lunches in sneakers, to church in pumps, to dressed up for dinner in heeled sandals or espadrilles! The fabric on this dress is also super comfortable and lightweight, which is ideal for hot Texas summers. I also just feel confident and good it in – isn’t that the best? Unfortunately the Winslow dress is no longer available, but Xirena has so many similar styles – scroll to the bottom of this post for links!

It’s truly one of my favorite spring/summer styles, so I decided to give another one of their pieces a go a few months later in August 2019. I ordered this black button-down shirt, which is a different fabric than the fuchsia dress above… and this fabric inspired an entirely new obsession with the brand. The black button-down is made of crinkled gauze, which is both incredibly comfy and soft, also while being lightweight and breathable since it’s 100% cotton. When I say I could sleep in this fabric, I MEAN IT! While I styled the button down for a night out in this post, I mostly wear this top with jeans and sneakers or flats. I also wore the top in this post!

After wearing the black button-down on repeat, I decided to order a white option to wear the following spring in March 2020! I got it right before the pandemic shut down the country, and it was actually the perfect addition to my closet in lockdown. I personally like to get ready for the day (yes, even back in lockdown days), so instead of just wearing sweats and loungewear I’ll opt for a cute + comfy top like this and stretchy jeans! This top is a little more relaxed and boho than the button-up style, a great option for styling with shorts, flowy skirts and jeans. Details for the rest of the outfit below can be found in this post!

The most recent addition to my closet by Xirena is the Cate dress, a black, belted, button-down shirtdress made of the same incredibly soft and comfortable gauze cotton fabric as the two shirts I own. I love the pre-rolled sleeves (the fuchsia dress also had this nice detail!), and the fact that this style is just as easy to dress up or down. I wore it for the first time yesterday with my new Golden Goose sneakers, but I imagine I’ll style it just like I have the fuchsia dress! Super versatile! For sizing reference, I’m wearing a medium in the black dress, and a small in the other items featured in this post.
