I know what you’re going to say: how can you even be talking about new fall clothes right now?! We’re in the dead heat of summer, with the end of social distancing nowhere in sight for many of us. While I did some shopping at the beginning of quarantine with high hopes of getting back out again soon, it became clear pretty quickly that would not be the case. I’ve purchased a few things here and there over the last few months (like some new GG sneakers and dresses from the Lisa Marie Fernandez for Target collab), but generally avoided buying a bunch of new clothes this summer I wouldn’t be getting out and about to wear. Even though the fall season is still looking pretty bleak (at least in Texas – they just cancelled the month long State Fair in October!), seeing some new season arrivals at my favorite shops brings me so much joy.

Before my trip to Austin last week I was feeling pretty down. This year hasn’t been great for *any* of us, and doesn’t seem to be getting much better as it goes on. While there isn’t much to look forward to as we enter the latter part of the year, the prospect of a new season just fills me with a little hope! Even though I won’t be shopping these items yet, I’m feeling inspired by the possibility of fall and a fresh start going into my favorite season.
