WINTER TRAVEL FAVORITES

12.30

You guys heard me talk all about this Canada Goose parka before my trip in this blog post, but I wanted to give you guys an update and a more thorough review now that I’ve worn it a bunch! I wore it nearly every day of my trip and it kept me warm the whole time. While I was wearing it, I discovered some features that I really enjoyed and found very useful:

  • Even with gloves on my hands were freezing, but this parka features fleece-lined exterior pockets that quickly warmed my hands back up!
  • The hood features shaping wire which helps keep it in place! Perfect for the more windy days.
  • The cuffs on the jacket are rib-knit, which locks in heat!
  • It is water-resistant! We experienced a bit of rain or sleet every day in Germany, so this coat was key in keeping me dry.

All in all, I am very pleased with this parka and am glad to have made the investment. If you’re considering it for yourself, I’m wearing a size medium here! I’m 5’9 and busty, and wanted to be able to wear it with thicker sweaters underneath.

BANANA REPUBLIC FAIR ISLE MOCK NECK SWEATER

A couple other items I picked up ahead of my trip include this fair isle sweater and this pretty champagne crossbody bag! I actually owned this bag in black several years ago. There was only one option back then, but now the brand is doing Saffiano (textured) leather and a bunch of different colorways. I thought the champagne color would be a useful neutral for me, and the textured leather is more durable than the smooth leather option I had a few years back. What I love most about this hands-free crossbody is the two zippered pockets for keeping my things organized and secure on the go.

I also was super thrilled with the quality of this Banana Republic sweater! It’s the perfect weight and very soft, featuring a classic fair isle in two of my favorite neutral hues. Such a cozy, cute piece for winter at a great price point! I’m wearing a medium in the sweater – most of Banana Republic sweaters I’ve tried recently have had more of a slim fit. I prefer sweaters to be less fitted!

Finally, if you’re looking for a comfortable pair of boots for long walking days, don’t miss Stuart Weitzman’s Lowland boots. I’ve had these since I lived in London in 2015 and they haven’t let me down yet! Super comfortable and wearable all day long. They fit true to size and the leather is stretchy to fit the shape of your leg! I have the smooth leather option (more can be found on eBay!), but they’re also available in suede here and here.
