Happy Sunday, and welcome to this year’s Holiday Party Outfit Guide! I’ve been doing this series for a few years now (2016, 2017, and 2018), and it’s been one of my most popular posts this time of year! Because I recently launched my 2019 Holiday Capsule Wardrobe earlier this week, I decided to do this post a little differently this year. Instead of focusing on specific activities (Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Eve dinner, for example), I’m keeping it simple and focusing on the type of attire: casual, day-to-night and cocktail party. In addition to showing an outfit for inspo with each section, I’ve linked a ton of really great pieces for you to recreate these and similar looks at a variety of price points. I hope you guys enjoy this year’s Holiday Party Outfit Guide! Stay tuned for more Gift Guides throughout the month of December…
casual holiday get togethers
This section of the Holiday Party Outfit Guide is dedicated to the more casual occasions. Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, happy hours, gift exchanges/events with your friends, etc! Keep things classic but add festive details like I did with this ruffle-trim sweater, on-trend headband and pretty flats. That way you’ll be comfortable and cozy, but with a party-ready attitude! Below I’ve rounded up similar chic sweaters and coats, along with some embellished accessories that’ll help punch up the look.

day-to-night party looks
This look is something I would totally wear to a Christmas Eve church service or holiday office party! It would work for really any kind of day-to-night event – obviously work appropriate, but transitions well to a party! While a dress can certainly be on point for an office holiday party, I think a metallic or sequined midi skirt like this can get you more bang for your buck. I wore this metallic pleated skirt from last December all the way into spring with soft neutral sweaters! Separates generally have a way of being more exciting and versatile, as there are so many ways you can style them.
This look is completely appropriate for a work-related holiday party, and also easy to dress up or down depending on the occasion. Dress the look down with a chunky sweater and pretty flats, or jazz it up with a pair of heeled sandals and a velvet top! Shop my favorite metallic and sequin skirts for the holiday season below, and be sure to download my 2019 Holiday Capsule Wardrobe for tons of inspo on how to style it!
