As a somewhat curvy gal (boobs, hips, saddlebags – you name it, I’ve got ’em), I’ve often struggled with shorts. 85% of the time I don’t like the way shorts look on me. They’re usually too short or the rise is too low for my liking, or they are too narrow in the thigh area! Needless to say, I don’t own many pairs of shorts these days.
So with that all said, I was recently pleasantly surprised to discover White House Black Market has a great-fitting pair of shorts that I actually really love! These white shorts feature a super soft and comfy, stretchy fabric, are the ideal length and rise, and are definitely one of the most flattering short styles I’ve tried in the last couple of years. I also really like the polished, crisp style of these – I feel like so many shorts these days are on the more edgy or trendy side, so it’s nice to have a more elevated everyday option! I’m so thrilled with these shorts, in fact, that I’m thinking of snagging them in black too. Texas is known for its Indian summers, so I’ll be able to wear the black pair well into October! I also may try this belted style in cream – so pretty! For reference, I’m wearing a 6 in these shorts – I wanted them to fit but not be super fitted. The best part? All of these shorts are a steal for under $30!
Below are some additional items I’m eyeing from White House Black Market’s summer collection – so many great budget-friendly basics:
- This white blouse reminds me of a designer style from earlier this spring – so gorgeous!
- This twist-front LBD looks like a comfy, cute style you can wear for nearly any occasion! Dress it down with sneakers, or dress it up with heeled sandals.
- This one-shoulder top would be a great date night go-to!
- This leopard skirt is long enough for the office, but fun enough for nights out! Style it with a tank or tee now, and with a sweater or silk blouse this fall.
- Loving the faux leather trim on this under $100 pair of jeans! Such a cool detail for fall/winter denim.
- This lightweight convertible cami is an elevated option you can style under blazers at the office, or wear with shorts on hot days over the weekend!
- This beige utility jacket is right up my alley. Such a useful neutral!
