Viewpoint behind the Carmo Convent | The Style Scribe[/halves]

Believe me when I tell you Meghan and I visited every single viewpoint in the city of Lisbon! Because of all of the large hills around town, there are a bunch of really gorgeous spots to capture photos from above. It’s such a beautiful sight with all of the terracotta roofing and colorful buildings in the backdrop! Of all the viewpoints, Miradouro das Portas do Sol was my absolute favorite! It doesn’t matter where you’re standing at the viewpoint or which direction you are facing… you are going to see outstanding views from every single angle.

There are a couple of different areas to see the views from various vantage points, so make sure you walk beyond the obvious observation deck! For example, just a few steps down the street you’ll find another viewing area with a tiled wall, red door and bougainvillea trees. It provides another great view and also some pretty photo opps with the structure itself! There’s also a cute terrace bar up the street a few steps (but down a little on the view perspective) called Portas Do Sol – it looks like it belongs in Cabo! Grab a drink, but expect the service to be slow.

This dress ended up being absolutely perfect for this day exploring Lisbon – we walked up A TON of hills and it was sunny + warm, so needless to say I was glad to be wearing something lightweight and breezy. It also didn’t hurt that I avoided bad tan lines with this strapless neckline! I’m glad I was able to shoot this dress earlier in the day, because unfortunately I ended up spilling an entire glass of port wine on myself during happy hour. I’m such a mess! Anyway… if you want to shop the dress, I’m wearing a small. It’s super comfortable!

PS: The other viewpoint that nearly ties with Portas do Sol for the best in the city is the view from Castelo de Sao Jorge… I’ll share pics from that one soon! The last photo in this post is actually from yet another viewpoint in the city, behind the Carmo Convent… but I wanted to include it since I’m wearing the same outfit!
