1. RESTAURANTS

This article looks at how snacking has quietly taken over our eating habits, and restaurants are adapting fast! Instead of focusing only on traditional breakfast, lunch, and dinner, chains are rolling out smaller, cheaper menu items designed for those in-between moments when you just want a little something. Think snack wraps, protein cups (seriously…so much protein on menus these days), specialty drinks, and mini breakfast items that can tide you over until your next meal or replace it entirely! It actually makes a lot of sense when you consider how many people work from home now or skip traditional lunch breaks — sometimes you just need a quick treat and a reason to step outside for 10 minutes!

2. INDUSTRY NEWS

In fashion news, Revolve just launched its first-ever in-house luxury label called Revolve Los Angeles and Bella Hadid is the face of their debut campaign! The idea is to lean into that very specific L.A. aesthetic the brand is known for (glamorous, sexy, a little bit Old Hollywood) but at a more elevated price point than the typical Revolve assortment. Pieces range from about $200 tops to gowns around $3,500, which the founders say reflects how much their customer has evolved over the years. It’s interesting to see Revolve stepping into the luxury space like this after building such a massive multi-brand platform — and clearly they’re betting their audience is ready for something a bit more high-fashion!

3. BEAUTY

After years of slicked-back buns and barely-there makeup, is the “clean girl” era over? This piece argues that beauty is shifting toward something much more expressive! Less sheer foundation and lip tint, more smudged eyeliner, bold eyeshadows, and looks that feel a little less polished and a lot more fun! The author calls it the “drama queen” aesthetic, and it pulls inspiration from everything from early-2000s club makeup to the indie-sleaze revival happening in pop culture right now. Personally, I think there will always be a place for the clean girl look, but it’s refreshing to see beauty trending back toward individuality instead of everyone trying to look exactly the same! If you’re curious, I shared my updated everyday makeup routine back in the fall!

4. TV

Sarah Pidgeon is my current style crush, so I appreciated this BTS look at how the Love Story hair and makeup team transformed her into Carolyn Bessette Kennedy — specifically her iconic ’90s blonde hair! The process was surprisingly intense: it took nearly 20 hours of careful coloring and hundreds of individual extensions to recreate that effortless, sun-kissed blonde CBK was known for! If you pay close attention you’ll notice early in the show her hair is looser and more carefree (and with more of a root), then becomes sleeker and more polished as Carolyn’s life becomes more public. It’s a reminder that the best costume and beauty moments on TV are often doing a lot of subtle character work behind the scenes!

5. CULTURE

Apparently Timothée Chalamet stirred up a surprising amount of cultural debate after suggesting that ballet and opera are the kind of art forms people talk about “keeping alive” because no one cares any more! The response from the ballet world was swift, but this piece makes an interesting point: part of the reason ballet struggles with relevance is the barriers built into the art form itself! Between the cost of classes, pointe shoes, costumes, and competition fees, ballet is an incredibly expensive hobby — and that’s before you even get to the cost of attending performances! There’s also the reality that most dancers start very young, which can make the world feel closed off to adults who simply want to try it for fun. It’s a thoughtful look at how an art form known for beauty and excellence might need to become a little more accessible if it wants to grow its audience in the modern world!

6. FASHION

Apparently there was a full-blown Chanel shopping frenzy in Paris last week when the first pieces from Matthieu Blazy’s debut collection quietly arrived in boutiques! Editors, celebrities, and loyal clients were running between shows, trying to track down specific items they’d spotted on the runway. Dressing rooms were packed and wait times topped an hour just to shop! Yes, having a buzzy runway show is great, but what really matters is how shoppers respond. And in this case? Things were selling out almost immediately, from croc-embossed pumps to a nearly $4,000 cotton button-down shirt. Even in a slower luxury market, it sounds like Chanel has managed to generate genuine excitement again!
