I’ve really enjoyed putting these packing lists together over the last year, so I decided to create another batch for this summer season.
SUMMER PACKING INSPIRATION FOR ASPEN, CARMEL AND THE HAMPTONS
This time I focused on destinations I tend to get the most questions about this time of year: Aspen, Carmel and the Hamptons! Being from Texas, most people I know do their best to escape the heat with a long vacation somewhere more temperate like Colorado or California. The Hamptons is definitely more of a New York-specific destination, but considering I’m eager to find myself there at some point this summer I figured I’d include it here too. I don’t have any immediate plans to visit the Hamptons this summer, as I’m still working on actually meeting someone with a Hamptons house (lol – fingers crossed!), but if I were going I’d go full glam. Chic, elevated neutrals and modern separates!

Carmel is a place you need layers. While it’s on the California coast, it’s much more in line with chilly San Francisco weather! Most of the year the temps reside between 40-60 degrees, so it’s best to pack accordingly. I recommend packing a few different jackets, a mix of tees/tops and sweaters, and a cashmere shawl! I mostly wear jeans and pants when I’m in Carmel, with the occasional dress for dinner or on a particularly nice day. If you end up not packing enough warm options, fear not! There’s a Jenni Kayne and a Brochu Walker in town – both are favorites of mine for cashmere sweaters.

For some reason I always associate Aspen with “Americana” vibes? It’s definitely a place people sport red, white & blue all summer long. This collage is for the color lovers out there!
