SPRING/SUMMER TRY-ON WITH ANN TAYLOR

04.17

Today’s post is brought to you by Ann Taylor, a brand I am so excited to be working with! While their sophisticated styles are definitely great for the office and going out and about, they also have cute and comfortable items you can wear right now while working from home! As you guys know, I’m doing my best to get dressed and “ready” every day as it’s been helping me stick to a routine and be more productive throughout the week. I’ve worn everything from sundresses to casual jeans + cardigan pairings, but I just enjoy putting on actual clothes as opposed to living in sweats. It lifts my mood and makes everything feel more like business as usual! Since you guys have been loving my try-on stories and blog posts, I thought it would be fun to do this post like that and highlight some of my favorites from the new arrivals on their site. Scroll down for my reviews on each piece, and at the bottom I’ve rounded up even more spring/summer styles from Ann Taylor to love!

SHOP THE LOOK: CARDIGAN // JEANS // SANDALS

One item I was eager to try is this minty long line cardigan! The minty hue is so fresh and on trend for the season, and it looked like it would be perfect for wearing around the house now, and a layering piece for travel later. It’s lightweight (read: perfect for Texas springs/summers!), super soft, and I absolutely love the midi length hem. Most of my cardigans fall just below my butt and feel more casual, but this one definitely gives off a more elegant vibe – something you could dress up with a lace cami and heeled sandals for dinner! I’m wearing a size small here, which is true to size.

If you’re looking for a flattering pair of white jeans under $100, don’t miss this pair! I’m wearing them in a 6 tall regular, but they also come in a “curvy” style, as well as regular and petite lengths. White denim is the ultimate summer wardrobe staple!

SHOP THE LOOK: DRESS // HEELS

This is not the first yellow dress I’ve purchased this season, and I ain’t mad about it! Yellow is such a bright, happy hue that gives me all the spring/summer feels, and I’m all about pieces that can lift my mood right now! This dress is one of ’em. The eyelet details on the skirt add a lightness and feminine touch to this fit-and-flare style, and I love the crochet trim at the neckline/shoulders! This sophisticated silhouette is so great for just about any occasion: church, work, brunch, and a great travel style you can dress up or down for day or night. I’m wearing a size 4 here which fits me perfectly!

The gold scalloped sandals in this look are a lovely less expensive alternative to a pair I’d been eyeing by Loeffler Randall last year. They are the perfect heel height – plus being a block heel, these shoes feel very sturdy and comfortable for all day/night wear! A great shoe to have on hand for date night, weddings, and more! I took my normal size – they’re true to size!

SHOP THE LOOK: TOP // JEANS // HEELS

Isn’t this striped top darling? The tie front detail is super cute and actually very flattering, as it nips in at the waist drawing your eye to the area. Since I have an hourglass figure, I’m all about any outfit/piece that highlights my waist! It is on the shorter side though, so definitely plan to pair it with high-waisted jeans and shorts! This cutie is under $70 and I’m wearing a small.

SHOP THE LOOK: DRESS // SANDALS

While I absolutely LOVE the color and easy silhouette of this dress, it’s a little too short, and it’s also too snug in the stomach and bust area on me. I generally need to size up in button-front styles because I’m busty, but forgot to do that with this! I’m wearing a size 4 here! Even if I got a 6, I’m not sure it would be long enough on me though – I’m 5’9 for reference. Would be such a cute style on someone a little shorter!

These sandals are the real star of this outfit! These three band leather slides feature a wavy design that look and feel way more expensive than they are. So comfortable on the very first wear! They also come in black and gold (which I’m also tempted to order), but I thought the camel would be a good neutral to have for spring, summer and early fall. I’m wearing a 9 1/2 which is my normal size, so they are true to size!

SHOP THE LOOK: BLOUSE // JEANS // SANDALS

Last but not least is this split neck blouse! The covered buttons and crisp, oversized cuffs lend a luxe touch. This blouse is slightly sheer, so keep that in mind – I’m just wearing a regular bra here, but if you want more coverage just layer it over a nude cami! I’m wearing a small which fits true to size. I love the way it looks untucked, but it would be super sleek tucked into a pair of black slacks (a la Meghan Markle) or into a skirt for the office!
