PRE-FALL PREVIEW

01.25

Thakoon took a more feminine approach to pre-fall, when comparing the collection to others of the same caliber. Continuing the use of creamy, pastel hues and soft, subtle browns and grays, it is a sleek feminine collection of epic proportions. On the other end of the spectrum, Yigal Azrouel uses bold blues and luxurious leopard/tortoise prints that demand attention. Love them both!

Digging the brocades in blue and green at both Ports 1961 and Proenza Schouler. The color adds edge to an otherwise feminine fabric.

Both Phillip Lim and Givenchy included punches of red intermixed with classic black, white and brown. It seems as if many designers are taking more of a simplistic, wearable approach to fall, which is great for the general public! Many of the runway looks are more subdued this time around, making it easy to take the look straight from the catwalk to the concrete.

Erdem and Preen never disappoint. You can always count on both lines to include bright hues and pretty prints. Dying for that crisp blue and white number by Preen.

Jason WU and Rachel Zoe both provided ladylike looks that can go from work to weekend. The silhouettes are fitted but forgiving and aren’t too hard on the eyes, color-wise.

In a couple of weeks, I’ll be heading off to NYC for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week! I’m sure I’ll have a lot more to add to this and what’s to come for Fall/Winter 2012, so stay tuned!
